5/3/2022 Enjoying our last full day at Grand Case Beach Club, dinner at La Villa

Today is our last full day before we head back home.  We've decided to stay at our resort and just relax. I'm up very early-around 5:30 am-and take some cool pictures before the sun is fully up.

Breakfast.   Wanting to use up as much of the food we have in the fridge as we can I make myself some fried ham, an egg over easy/medium, toast, and coffee.  Richard makes himself an omelet with the ham, green pepper, and tomato.  He also uses up the bread making toast and of course-coffee.

Breakfast

We are out on our loungers by 8:45 am!  In the water by 9:30 am.  It's a nice day even though it's a bit cloudy.  Back on our loungers by 10:30 am!  That's how we roll.  Loungers, floating about in the water at our beach.....

I didn't do a great job writing our names in the sand especially the letters c and r in Richard and the letter h in Chris!

Our view-always seems to be lots of boats in the water here

Looks like they're going to go for a dive

Maybe going to Creole Rock?

Interesting yacht in that it's a dark gray color instead of the usual white boats we see

Iguana on the ledge by our loungers

Sky is gorgeous today

I decide I'd like to bring some of the coffee home so we go to the boutique/gift shop.  I buy the last 2 packets left in the basket.  I also bought a GCBC hat and a postcard with a picture of the resort on it.  Cost $35.25 USD.

We decide to spend some time at the pool.  Water  is nice.  Richard enjoys the jacuzzi.  Just a few others here.  We stay here until 4:00 pm.

Loving the lounger

Both of us enjoying the loungers!

There is a long walkway that kind of wraps around this upper area by the pool.  We decide to check it out.  Every so often we see loungers, tables and chairs-all to relax and take in the views-maybe the sunset.  It's really nice.  Great view of Creole Rock.  A small boat with a diver returning from a dive-maybe to Creole Rock??   From the walkway we see a rather large plane landing at the Grand Case Airport.  We've driven by this airport many times on our way to the Super U and the pharmacy or to go sightseeing.  Seems busy as cars always lined up on the street.  Wish we had driven in the check it out.  As we get to the end by the Sunset Cafe we also  get a good look at the beach here on the other side of the cafe.  It's wider than our beach we've been at.  Has umbrellas with loungers.  Don't know if they are part of our resort or..........  We return to our place by 4:15 pm.

Shower off the sun and sand as we have another covid test to do in order to be able to board our flight tomorrow back to the US.  We get our covid tests done-both negative-and have the paperwork in hand.  Cost this time was higher.  100€ or $105.80 USD.  Don't know why as I didn't think to ask.  Since it's close to time for sunset I want to be on the walkway.  It was the perfect sunset to end our trip.  Beautiful colors.  Best one yet!  There's also a drone flying around but I don't think it belongs to the guy at our resort as it appears to be landing further away.

La Villa.  I have made reservations for us for 7:30 pm.  Parking-in the same lot.  Restaurant has outside and inside seating as did many others we've been to while here.  We prefer to eat inside.  No problems with any mosquitos for us.  Drinks-we both get Bloody Marys but Richard says he's not all that happy with his.  Not spicy the way he likes it.  Not strong enough either.  I was perfectly fine with my Bloody Mary.    Bottled water.  Complimentary amuse bouche-cold asparagus soup shooter.  Bread basket.  We decide to order a mixed greens salad to share.  It has  a lemon flavored EVOO vinaigrette.  It's refreshing.  Tasty.  I get the seared black sesame crusted tuna-done rare-with mango and red bell pepper chutney, soy sauce,.  Comes with tumeric flavored rice.  The tuna is fantastic and the portion is so large that I share with Richard.  He also agrees the tuna is delicious!  Richard loves, loves salmon so he orders the salmon fillet done in virgin olive oil, fresh herbs, ginger, and diced tomato.  Comes with mashed potato.  His choice was from the specials menu.  We finished everything.  It was that good.  Dessert-I go for the red berries pavlova meringue with fresh fruits and raspberry sorbet.  It also comes with mascarpone whipped cream but I requested not to have any.  In hindsight I wouldn't have done that again.  I could always have had a taste of the mascarpone and left the rest!  Richard gets 3 scoops of ice cream and chooses coffee, rum raisin, and caramel.  Yummy!  Then comes the complimentary rum shots-pins colada rum.  Unique taste.  I wasn't a big fan which surprised me as I love pina coladas!  Then another set of shots-coconut banana rum.  I like this.  But wait, there's more!  Ginger rum shots!  Will I be able to walk to the car??!!  Our dinner was perfect for our last night here in St. Martin.  The staff has been wonderful.  Taking pictures.....  Cost without tip 119.60€/$126.54 USD.  I left a tip of $28.00 USD.

Returning to our resort I stop at the reception building to ask for printed copies of the Jet Blue attestation forms I have to complete.  No problem.  I'm given a card with the e-mail address to use for them to do the papers for me.  For check out tomorrow I need to bring the beach towels, the lock for the safe, and our room card keys.  Back at our place we realize we've never sat our on our balcony in the evening so we sit for 10 minutes or so admiring the peace/quiet.  Packing done and weighed.  We're under the 50# limit for check in baggage.  Jet Blue attestation forms completed and info e-mailed to reception.  In bed by 10:00 pm!
